Themed Ceiling Fans Add A Special Touch To Kids' Rooms

Last fall I had a new and exciting project, the interior design. Well, I am not a pro but I believe I have a good taste and have always decorated the rooms myself in our previous homes. Our new house construction was finished and I needed to think about the decor. This was the house we would live in for awhile. We wanted the kids to grow up in it. The kids' room had to be fun and exciting. The boys decided that they wanted a sports theme for their room. Now I had a challenge to find paint, paper border, window treatments, furniture, and a kids ceiling fan that would fit the theme.

I started by doing research online. Among the well-known and trusted brand names were Minka Aire, Kichler, Hsmpton Bay, Westinghouse, Hunter, Concorde and Monte Carlo. Although some brands carried kids ceiling fans, only a couple had those that would fit our theme. There was a soccer ball fan by Westinghouse but my boys weren't into soccer. We found a baseball fan also by Westinghouse that my sons didn't really care for. It was a 30 inch white fan with baseball bat decals and a baseball light globe. The boys said it was too plain. They rather liked the one from the Baseball collection by Hunter (item #23252). The blades looked like baseball bats behind a leather-like glove holding a baseball light globe. At 45 inches it was also bigger than the Westinghouse fan and much more suitable for the boys' big room. The only downside of it was that it had only four blades as opposed to five or six. But at this size it should produce enough air flow. It was also a good deal at $101, a steal compared to other fans that were priced at several hundred dollars. My boys were really happy with their choice.

The sites also had other kids ceiling fans. If I had a daughter I would definitely buy a Dreamland fan by Hunter (item #23781) or a Ballerina fan by Westinghouse. If you are looking for ceiling fan for a baby room in primary colors, a Balloon by Monte Carlo would be perfect with its bright colors of blue, red, yellow and orange. There many designs that will fit any decor, any color. There are so many styles to choose from at prices for any wallet.
